Short version: you buy a license, you use the app on your Macs, we keep it working.

What you're buying

A personal license to use CleanMyDev on the Macs you own. One-time payment, no subscription. Future updates to CleanMyDev are included. If we ever release a major new version with a separate price, your existing license keeps working on the version it was issued for and any compatible updates.

How many computers

One license activates the Clean action on a small number of your personal Macs (default: 3 active machines at a time). If you switch machines, just deactivate the old one inside the app — there's a button — and activate the new one.

The free part

Scanning, listing targets, and the doctor command are free forever, with or without a license. You only need a license to actually clean.

What CleanMyDev does and doesn't promise

CleanMyDev deletes things you tell it to delete. By default it moves files to the Trash, so you can recover them until you empty it. If you opt into "Skip Trash" / --permanent mode, deletion is, well, permanent. Please don't blame us if you tick the loud red box and then realize you needed that file.

The app is provided "as is". We've put a lot of care into the safety model — every target lives in a curated catalog, every cleanup type is labeled by safety level, and the destructive ones require explicit confirmation. But ultimately, you are running a program that deletes files on your computer. Keep backups.

What you can't do with the license

Resell, share, or transfer your license key to other people.
Use one license key across an unbounded number of machines (use the deactivate flow to move it).
Reverse-engineer the licensing layer to bypass it. We notice.

If your license is misused

If a license key is shared publicly or activated on more machines than the limit allows, we may revoke it. We'll always email you first.

Updates and end of life

We aim to keep CleanMyDev maintained for the foreseeable future. If we ever stop developing it, we'll publish a final build that works without a network license check, so your purchase keeps working on the Macs you have it on.

Changes

If we update these terms, the date below moves. Material changes will get a heads-up in the app.
