Privacy
Short version: CleanMyDev runs on your Mac. Your files never leave it.
What CleanMyDev does on your computer
CleanMyDev scans well-known developer cache and build-artifact folders (Xcode DerivedData, npm/pnpm/yarn caches, Docker images, Ollama models, etc.) and tells you how big they are. When you click Clean, files go to the Trash (or, if you opt in, are deleted permanently). That's it. Everything happens locally on your Mac.
What we collect
Nothing about your files. We never read, upload, or scan the contents of your files — only their sizes and timestamps.
We do collect a small amount of information to make the product work:
- License activation — when you activate a license, we send your license key and a generated machine name (e.g.
you@your-mac) to LemonSqueezy so they can confirm the key is valid. LemonSqueezy stores this; we don't. - Purchases — handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. We see your email and order ID; we don't see your card.
- Support emails — if you email us at devxengine@gmail.com, we read your message. We don't add you to any list.
What we don't do
- No analytics or telemetry inside the app. No event tracking, no crash beacons phoning home, no usage stats.
- No ads, no third-party trackers. The website uses Tailwind from a CDN and loads Inter from Google Fonts — that's the extent of it.
- No selling, no sharing. We don't sell or share your email or license info. Ever.
Where your license is stored
On your Mac, in a plain JSON file at ~/Library/Application Support/CleanMyDev/license.json. It's readable only by you (file mode 0600). You can delete it whenever you want; the app will just go back to its free state.
Network connections
The app talks to api.lemonsqueezy.com when you activate, validate, or deactivate a license — that's the only network call it makes. It does not phone home for any other reason.
Have a question, want your data deleted, want to talk to a human? Email devxengine@gmail.com. A real one replies.
Changes
If we ever change anything here, we'll update the date below. Material changes will get a heads-up in the app.
